I'm a writer in about the same way as Jackson Pollok was a pastry chef. Loads of inspiration, but somewhat messy execution. One day I hope to tame the rambling spaghetti that is my prose into a well-groomed novel, ready to jostel for shelf-room alongside the likes of George Orwell and Neil Gaimen. For now, I merely inflict it on the internet.
I pretty much exclusively write what's sometimes called "speculative fiction", more commonly "sci-fi-and-fantasy", and very occasionally "that stupid nonsense that people dream up" (actual quote from a guy I met once on a train). This means that I write about things that weren't real (fantasy), aren't real (urban fantasy) and will probably never be real (sci fi). This doesn't bother me in the slightest.
